Rules Of General Descipline And Behavoiur

The Students of Little Flower School shall try their level best to acquire a refined character, manners and behaviour, and cultivate the habit of truthfulness, law and order etc which are required at all times. Student should be friendly and well behaved in and outside the school.
Students must come to the School in clean, neat and proper uniform. They should keep with them the texts and Note books required for the classes they attend.
An Identity Card will be issued to every student after admission. The student shall always carry the card with his/her photograph affixed their own and attested. No student is allowed in the School Campus without Identity Card.
The School Notice-Board has to be consulted daily and be appraised of all the information imparted to the students, thereby, by the authorities.
All students must reach the School well in time neatly dressed. Late comers will have to get the late coming record signed by the Principal before they are allowed in the class. Those who reach the School before time should sit in their seats in the class room and study silently. Permission of the teacher-in-charge is required for going out before the first bell.
They shall be regular in coming to the School, attending the Classes and participating in other co-curricular activities arranged for them.
The students are not allowed to absent themselves from the Classes without sufficient reason. If they absent themselves from the regular classes, they have to submit the leave application duly counter signed by the guardian.
The Medium of instruction and expression in the School is strictly English. English is the medium of communication in the School premises. ‘Speak only in English’ during the School hours. All are expected to speak English in the school premises.
All students are responsible to the Principal for their conduct in the School. Conduct is based on respect for the dignity and right of individuals, respect for public and personal property and personal and academic honesty.
Students should bring their school diary to the School every day and as far as class room is concerned it should be looked upon as a place of reverence and discipline.
No article or book other than required for the class should ever be brought to the school. Pupils are expected to take good care of their books and personal belongings. These should be marked distinctly and indelibly with the owner’s name, class and section.
Books considered objectionable or obscene should not be brought to the School. News papers and other publications may not be brought to the School without the prior sanction of the Principal.
The students are expected to be courteous and respectful to the teachers and other staff of the School.
The students must greet the teachers wherever they meet them for the first time in the day.
When a teacher enters the class, students must keep standing until the teacher asks them to sit down or to occupy his/her seat. They shall thank the teacher at the end of the class. Students are not to entertain teachers with gifts.
A student who fails twice in a class will have to discontinue his/her studies from this School.
Special arrangements for Examinations cannot be made for pupils who, for any reason, are absent for any examination. Absence from the examinations / test means to total loss of marks. A pupil absent from the examination for any reason will not be re-examined.
Every student is responsible for the safe custody of his/her belongings. The School will not be responsible for their loss. Ornaments and jewellery of any are not allowed in the school.
Pupils should not bring a large amount of money to the School.
The students shall handle the properties of the School with care and attention. Doing damage to the property of the School is a breach of discipline and will be duly punished/ penalized.
If any damage is caused it should be reported to the Class Teacher/ Principal. Those who cause damage the School property have to get it repaired.
Students are expected to keep the School campus and building clean. they should not write or scratch on any furniture, walls or doors or damage any property belonging to others.
Any damage done to the School property must be reported immediately and remedied by the offender. The decision of the Principal in this matter will be final.
At the warning bell, all should proceed to where it summons them. Absolute silence and perfect order should be maintained by all pupils while going to the assembly ground, library, labs and playground or while returning to classes.
A student must obtain his/her parent’s acknowledgment within three days for entries in the progress report and remarks in the School diary.
Habitual late coming, irregularity in attendance, unjustified absence, willful disobedience or conduct injurious to the tone and discipline of the school, will be seriously dealt with.
Running or shouting inside the class room is forbidden. Students should not be out of the class without permission. Perfect silence should be observed while changing classes.
At the absence of a teacher from the class, students must obey the monitor appointed to maintain discipline.
Students should not throw papers, wrappers etc. anywhere in the School premise. They should use the dustbins provided for this purpose.
Students joining the School are, expected to abide by the rules and regulations of the School and any breach may be sufficient reason for the Principal to dismiss him/her.
Every student should endeavour to keep up the high tone of the School, by excelling in good manners and deportment.
In case of mis-behaviour, like Immoral actions, insubordination to authorities, willful damage of property, skulking, stealing, mal-practice inexamination,pering with marks, forgery in any form, etc. are grave reasons for severe disciplinary action.
A student who uses unfair means during examination/test will be given Zero in the subject. Repetition of the same will result in dismissal. In such cases the students can be suspended from the School by the Principal, which shall be final.
If the Principal decides that the continuance of a student in the School is detrimental to the best interests of the School, his decision is final and the student has to leave the School.
The School reserves the right to compel the parents to withdraw their wards if their progress in studies is unsatisfactory or if their attendance is irregular or if the conduct is harmful to other children.
During Physical Training period no student is allowed to remain in the classroom.
Permission from the Principal and ‘Gate-pass’ are necessary for leaving the School premises during School hours. No students will be sent home during School hours, unless a duly authorized person comes to take.
After the School hours all students are to go home. Pupil on their way to and from the School, are expected to behave in a responsible manner.
It is compulsory on the part of the pupils to participate in co- curricular activities and other School activities.
No collection whatsoever should be made without the prior permission of the Principal.
Promotion to the next class will be based on the aggregate grade/ marks in the test and examinations. The Annual Examination answer papers will not be shown to the parents/guardians.
The students are not allowed to absent themselves from the Classes without sufficient reasons. If they absent themselves from the regular classes, they have to submit the leave application duly counter signed by the Guardian.
All students are required to put in a minimum of 80% of attendance in each Academic Year.
The result at the end of the Academic Year will be given on the appointed day to all those who have paid all their dues as well as returned the library books.
Parents & visitors are not allowed to interview the teachers or to meet their children during class hours without the written permission of the Principal.
Any student who loses the Progress Card will get a new one, with a payment of Rs. 50/-
A Transfer Certificate will be issued to the student when all dues have been paid in full and on a written application from the parents or guardians of the pupil stating the reason. It should be done one month in advance.
For withdrawing T.C., the parent of the ward shall submit an application to the Principal and shall receive the desired documents after three days of submission of application.
For T.C., the students should ensure that he/she has got the clearance from the office, library, laboratory etc.
A parent who is dissatisfied with the working of the School in any way is free to take his/her child out of the School.
Incidents of misconduct among minors in the school premises may happen; in such cases parents should be more prudent and understanding.
Any communication (request or complaint) made by the parents should be addressed to the Principal and not to the Class teachers.
Utmost care is taken to avoid discrepancy in calculation and evaluation. The result, once declared, cannot be questioned or re-considered.
Using Mobile phone, Camera, and other electronic devices are not allowed in the School Campus. Students found guilty of using them in the Class will be penalized and fined Rs.200/-
Pupils who do not abide by the norms of the schools be dismissed from the School even during the course of the academic year.
No child suffering from contagious diseases will be allowed to attend the class. Withdrawal of the children from the classes during School time is not permitted.
Parents who want to take their children to hospital etc., are advised not to send their children to School for a session or ½ day as the case may be but to send a leave note to the School.
Above all these, the students must follow the Golden Rule “Do to others what you want them to do for you” (Mt. 7:12).

Library Rules

The Library will remain open from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on all working days.
The Library is essentially a place of silence and serious study .Therefore perfect silence is to be maintained at all times inside the library.
The School Library is opened only on working days.
Library books can be issued and returned only during the Library period of the class and not in any other teaching period.
Each student be given a Library card and so may you have one book at a time
Exchange of library card is not permitted.
Library Card must be kept carefully. If lost, a new card will be issued only after verification and on payment of Rs 25/-
Books are issued for a period of one week.
The students are allowed to take only one book at a time for a period of 15 days and if needed renewal for a third week will be granted.
The book should be returned on the prescribed date.
Penalty of Rs. 5/- per day is levied on book issued for 15 days use and not returned in time. The fine amount is to be paid in the Library office.
As books are extremely expensive, students are expected to take great care of them. When books are issued they should be carefully examined and any defect or flow, e.g. missing pages, pencil or ink-mark etc. must be brought to the notice of the Counter Assistant.
Students found damaging or mutilating books will be required to replace them and if the book happens to be one of a series, this penalty will be extended to the entire set.
Reference books, Encyclopaedian, Dictionaries, Magazines & Journals will not be issued for taking home. They are to be consulted and within the Library
Readers will be responsible for the damages caused to any book. Pencil marks, ink stains, tracing etc. made in the Library books will be treated as the damages.
The loss of books must be immediately reported to the Librarian. If a book cannot be recovered, the student responsible for its loss will replace the book and if the volume is one of a series, the student have the liability to replace the entire set.
All books taken from the library should be returned two weeks before the Annual Examination.
Outsiders can be permitted to visit the Library with the special permission of the Principal.
Staff & Students of the School are already the members of the Library.
All members of the School and the visitors to the Library are requested to follow the Library rules meticulously & seriously.

Responsible Parentship / Guardianship

Though the School can do a lot for the a child, it cannot do everything. The home is the place where the child gets his / her first education and training in citizenship.It is the chief place where his/ her character is formed and developed.
School education indeed, promotes the growth of his / her personality and helps to discover and develop the qualities that are in the children. Inorder to secure all that is best in the education of your child, maximum cooperation between the parents and the school authorities is necessary.
The School desires to have your co-operation and close contact with the teachers of your child in order to develop an atmosphere that is conducive to better and more effective education.
School Hand book is one of the links which bridges the home and the school. It will be an effective medium for parents- teacher contact.
We earnestly request the parents to look into this hand book everyday and see to it that the lesson and home work assigned for the next day are completed. The child should be encouraged to habitual cleanliness in all his / her work.
Parents are expected to sign the note books when they are sent for your signature. Failure to do so may put their children to great inconveniences.
When communicating with the Principal, parents / guardians ar requested to mention in their letter the name of the student, class and section.
Parents are strictly forbidden to interview their children and teacher in the class or the staff member in the staff room without the permission of the Principal.
Tipping the servants either during or after the school hours must be avoided at all cost.
They should insist that their children devote enough time daily to learn their lesson before they come to the school.On holidays they should find sometime devoted to study at home.
Parents are requested not to send for or call away their children during class hours except in case of unforseen emergency, and that too with the permission of the Principal.
Parents should understand they cannot dictate to the Principal but the Principal has the right to say on what conditions he will admit or retain pupils in the instittution.
Parents/ guardians are requested to send their wards to School in full uniforn assigned for the day, neat and tidy and also in time.
Ordinary communications to the parents will be made through the School diary which must be brought to the School daily.
Parents /Gardians are requested not to give any money to the children unless they receive a written notice from the School.
Children should be provided with tiffin, so that they do not have to buy any eatbles at all from vendors and hawkers.
Principal must be informed of the absence of the student at the earliest.
Parents are requested not to enter the classrooms or interview the teacher, much less to tell their servants to do so.
All dealings must be conducted through the Principal. Servants will not be permitted to remain in the School premises during class hours.
Any communication (Request or complaint) made by the parents should be addressed to the Principal and not to the Class Teacher.
While thus communicating with the Principal, the parents are requested to mention in those letters the name, class and section of the children.
Parents are requested to make sure that your ward carries the School diary with him/her daily.
If the parents have any grievance against any of the teachers, they are advised to meet the Principal and settle the matter amicably.
Please do avoid unhealthy criticism against the Institution or Teachers in the presence of children as it affects the good name of the Institution and to adversely influence the child’s attitude and behaviour towards his/her teachers.
Please do not ring up to School before 7.30 am. Kindly refer the pages of the Calendar and School diary of your ward before making a call to the School Office
To ensure the integrity and dedication of the members of the Staff, Parents / Guardians are discouraged to approach our teachers for private tuition.
Parents are requested to make sure the following:
Your child’s Fees is paid on the scheduled date
Children attend the School regularly and punctually, in the prescribed uniform and also with required books.
Children get enough time at home for study the lessons and complete the assignments.

The Uniform must be neat and clean and students who fail to be in Uniform as required and those who come in shabby and untidy dress will be denied entrance in to the class and are liable to be sent home.

Amendment Of the Rules

The Principal / Management has the right to introduce, amend or change the rules and regulations contained in this handbook whenever necessary in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the School.

Responsibility of Class Leader

Special attention should be paid by class teachers in choosing suitable leaders. Name shall be submitted to the supervisors whenever there is a change.
Leaders should be as far as possible exemplary in conduct and industrious in their studies.
They must be able to command respect in the class .
They are employed for all assistance in class e.g. maintaining discipline collecting and distributing books, bringing charts, maps, reporting to the concerned authorites about various needs of the class, upkeeping of bulletin board etc.
They must rub out the writing on the blackboard immediately after each period.
The leader will write each day on the blackboard, the date and the number of students present out of the total in their class.
The leaders will be responsible for all happenings in the .class during the absence of the teacher.
The leaders have to realize that to be a leader is a very special privilege and honour. To betray the trust and confidence reposed in them is to commit a most degrading act.
Once in two months a Meeting of leaders will be held under the guidance of supervisors when methods and means are discussed and adopted for improving discipline and redressing grievances .
It is incumbent on all leaders to report to the Principal, the teacher incharge or the class teacher any breach of discipline noticed even during the recess.
In the event of the teacher being absent, they must inform the Principal within the first five minutes of the commencement of the periods.

Special notes to the Parents

Smoking, chewing pan and spitting in the School campus is strictly prohibited.
Please switch of your mobile when you are in Principal’s office. Use of cell phones is also prohibited in the School premises and near the office counter.
Parents/gurdians/visitors are not allowed to enter the class rooms and meet the students and interview their teachers during the School hours. In case of an urgent need for meeting the student and teachers, the Principal is to be contacted.
Parents/guardians are earnestly requsted to check the books and hand books of the students regularly and help the school to maintain the standard.
Phone calls for teachers or students during the class hours will not be entertained.
Since Hand book is an essential part of every student’s outfit, it should be brought the school everyday. All entries of absence, late coming and home work not being done are being noted in the hand book and it has to checked every day.

Study Conditions : Make a Plan For Study

Keep in mind what you have to study, how much you have to study and time you have a balance between leisure and study. Organize a time table in such a way that you have fun and sufficent time for study.” All work and no play makes jack a dull boy”. Fun is essential because an exhausted mind cannot absorb what you study.
Decide when to study and what to study. Make a weekly time table. It is better to have short frequent period for each subject than long hours. Start with interestig easy lessons/topics and then go on to difficult ones unless they are connected.
Pay total attention to what you are studying: You will absorb more and understand better.
Do not study when you are tired. Relax with something light for short while and come back to studies. But do not confuse laziness and tiredness.
Understand the material you have to learn as whole.
Re-learn and revise previous lessons frequently. if you have learnt mathematical formula or grammar rules, practise their use, for, practice makes are perfect.
Do not try to learn notes but get the most important points and put them down in order under headings and subheadings.
During the week end, set aside some time to go over the week’s work concentrating on points you had not grasped.
Regularity and concentration are the key word of success.

Avoid all distraction: Do not let your mind wander or be distracted from what you are doing. For this, select a quiet place. Keep ready all the materials you might require close at hand so that you do not waste time and energy looking for it.
Study under proper light, for poor light tires the eyes and you lose concentration.
Have proper ventilation, for fresh air keeps the mind alert.
